Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Linnstone silica free stones vary in colour and pattern?
Linnstone silica free stones use natural materials, so variation in colour, pattern, size, shape, and shade is an inherent characteristic of the product. These differences are expected and do not affect performance. In some designs, tonal variation and colour flecks are intentional, added to enhance the surface's natural character.
How should Linnstone silica free stones be supported?
Linnstone silica free stones are not structural supports and must be properly supported for their application. Slabs at 2 cm or 3 cm thickness are intended for benchtops and require adequate support. Slabs under 2 cm are intended for silica free stones finishes such as walls, tub/shower surrounds, and fireplaces. Any horizontal application (including tub decks) must be fully supported.
What should be considered during installation?
Best results depend on properly prepared walls and cabinetry. Silica free stones should be installed onto structures that are sound, straight, level, and square. Inadequate preparation can lead to seam issues, poor fit, and inconsistent overhangs or alignment.
